Gurnee, IL – At 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 21, 2017, the proceeds from the 24^th annual Jon Callaghan Memorial Turkey Trot will be distributed to this year’s recipients. The check distribution will be at the Gurnee Police Department. 

The Gurnee Turkey Trot had approximately 500 registered participants for the annual 5K run/walk fundraiser. A total of $13,400 in net proceeds was raised.  Those funds will be distributed to four local organizations - the Gurnee Community Church Youth Missions Program, Gurnee School District 56 Special Needs Program, Warren Township Food Pantry, and  the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital.  Representatives from the Gurnee Turkey Trot Committee will be on hand to present the checks, including Mike and Kim Callaghan, Jon’s parents. 

Members of the media are invited to attend and speak with recipients.
