The Gurnee Police Department along with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a Roadside Safety Checkpoint in the 3500 block of Grand Avenue on the evening of Friday, September 4, 2009.

The checkpoint will begin at approximately 10:00 PM and will operate into the early morning hours of September 5. This Roadside Safety Checkpoint is conducted in an effort to promote seatbelt use and to ensure that motorists are operating their motor vehicles in a safe and sober manner.

The Gurnee Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Labor Day holiday weekend and would like to remind motorists that if “YOU DRINK AND DRIVE, YOU LOSE” and to “CLICK IT OR TICKET.”
