Gurnee Selects New Finance Director

Gurnee, IL – December 10, 2009 - The Village of Gurnee has selected Diane Lembesis to serve as the new Director of Finance. Ms. Lembesis has nearly two decades of government finance experience and brings a wealth of knowledge with her to the Village of Gurnee. She will be formally appointed to the position at the January 4, 2010 Village Board meeting.

Ms. Lembesis began her career in finance in 1980 as an internal auditor for A.C. Nielsen. Since that time, she has served as a Controller for WCFC-TV and has been the Director of Finance for the City of Park Ridge, IL since 1993. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration.

Her professional affiliations include the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society. Additionally, Ms. Lembesis has taught courses on budgeting and held small business seminars.

The Village is pleased to welcome Ms. Lembesis as the newest member of the Village’s top management team. Her experience, qualifications, and familiarity with governmental finance will enable the Finance Department to continue to provide effective and efficient service to the Village and all of its residents.
