Jul 10, 2009

GURNEE, IL  - At approximately 8:04 PM on July 9, 2009, Gurnee Police responded to a suspicious person call in the parking lot of the Bombay City Restaurant, 3747 Grand Ave. A male subject inside the car was reportedly having car trouble and had passed out inside the car.

Officers spoke to the man in the car for a few minutes and during the contact discovered a stolen MP3 player inside the vehicle. The MP3 player had been reported stolen in a car burglary reported in May 2009 in the South Ridge subdivision of Gurnee. The driver was then transported to the Gurnee Police Department for further investigation.

A Gurnee detective interviewed the suspect and later charged him with the burglary. Charged was Kyle T. Esser, 21, of 17129 W. Tigertail Ct. in unincorporated Gurnee. Esser was taken to a bond hearing in Waukegan this afternoon and remanded to the Lake County Jail on a $3000 bond.
In addition, on July 8, 2009, the Waukegan Police Department arrested two juveniles for burglary to autos in that city. The teens are from Gurnee and made admissions to committing burglaries in Gurnee also. Gurnee detectives interviewed the teens and cleared at least 10 open cases of burglary to autos during the month of June in the Providence Village and Providence Oaks subdivisions.

The two teens, 15 and 16, are from Gurnee and the cases have been referred to the Lake County Juvenile Court for adjudication.
