GURNEE, IL –- The Gurnee Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department conducted a roadside safety checkpoint from 10:00 PM, May 28, 2010 to 3:00 AM, May 29, 2010. The checkpoint was held in the 3500 block of Route 132. The results of the checkpoint are as follows.

530 Vehicles were directed through the checkpoint

Traffic Offenses

1- Arrest for Driving under the Influence
11-Arrests/citations for No Valid Drivers’ License
8- Arrests for Suspended/Revoked Drivers’ License
1- Citations for No Drivers’ License on Person
11-Citations for Failure to Wear a Seatbelt
6- Failure to Secure a Child under 8 years old
39-Citations for No Insurance
9- IL Vehicle Code traffic violations
7- Equipment Violations
3- Registration Violations Non-Traffic Offenses
1 – Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
1 – Unlawful Possession of Cannabis
1 – Unlawful Use of Weapon
