Photo Enforcement Public Forums Scheduled

GURNEE, IL - May 6, 2009 - In an effort to make community roads safer and reduce serious traffic crashes by addressing red light running, the Village of Gurnee will be activating red light photo enforcement cameras later this month. As a part of the Village’s public information campaign for this new traffic safety initiative, the Village is holding three public information forums during the initial 30-day warning period. During these forums residents can learn more about the technology, the Village’s program, and what constitutes a violation. The forum will include a brief presentation regarding how these systems work, followed by a question and answer period.
Mayor Kristina Kovarik, along with members of the Gurnee Police Department, will be on hand to answer questions and field concerns the public may have. The forum dates, times and locations are as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 05/13/09
Time: 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Location: Gurnee Village Hall Council Chambers
