The Village receives frequent questions from residents about where they can take items that are not able to be thrown out or recycled through Waste Management.  Fortunately, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) has an excellent guide of local resources that can take various items that cannot be disposed of through regular methods.  Everything from aluminum to helium tanks and wine corks can be found on this list.  See the list and accompanying resources on SWALCO's website.
