Patrol beats 54, 66, 68, and 82 (northeast side area neighborhoods and Deer Creek Condominiums) had their most recent neighborhood watch meeting on 09/12/13. The meeting was facilitated by Crime Prevention Technician Tom Agos. Officers Lavris, Bertaud, Caldwell, Woodruff and Detective Pugliese also attended. Police Activity Summary (patrol beats 54 and 68):

In patrol beats 54 and 68 (northern sections) 351 police calls for service have been generated during the first half of 2013.

21 of the calls received during the first half of 2013 were for Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009, 3,127 calls for service have been responded to in the neighborhoods; 450 of them IUCR crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 7.3%.

Police Activity Summary (patrol beat 82):

In patrol beat 82 (southern section) 816 police calls for service were generated during first half of 2013. Historically, the average is 1,309 per year.

54 of the calls received from the beat in the first half of 2013 were for IUCR crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009, 5,894 calls for service have been responded to in the neighborhood; 472 of them IUCR crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 8.0%.

Police Activity Summary (patrol beat 66; Deer Creek):

In patrol beat 66 (Deer Creek Condominiums) 127 police calls for service were generated during first half of 2013. Historically, the average is 257 per year.

7 of the calls received from the complex in the first half of 2013 were for IUCR crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009 1,157 calls for service have been responded to in the neighborhood; 130 of them IUCR crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 10.6%.

Training:

We presented a training session to residents pertaining to door-to-door sales people (solicitors). We discussed what defines a solicitor, registration requirements for them, constitutional considerations, and how residents can best partner with us in terms of enforcement.

Odds and Ends:

The next meeting for the area will be scheduled for a date in March 2014; sooner should the need arise. An official notice will be circulated when the date is set.
