Bank Robbery

Gurnee, IL—On November 14th at 1:44 P.M. the Gurnee Police Department received a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Community Trust Credit Union located at 1313 N. Rt. 41. The first officers to arrive learned that the suspect had fled the area on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.

 A perimeter was set up and a search of the area was conducted with the help of Gurnee’s K-9 and the Law Enforcement Aviation Coalition’s Air-One helicopter. Viking Junior High, Warren Township High School’s O’Plaine Campus, and River Trail School were placed on soft lockdown while the search was conducted. The suspect was not located.

The suspect was described as a male black, medium build, 5-10, wearing darker jeans, white shoes with black trim, and a red hooded sweatshirt with a white ski mask pulled down over his face. The sweatshirt had white writing on the shoulder and front and an emblem on top of the hood. The suspect implied he had a weapon, but did not display one. There were no injuries reported.
