Patrol beats 54, 66, 68, and 82 (northeast side area neighborhoods and Deer Creek Condominiums) had their most recent neighborhood watch meeting on 03/13/14. The meeting was facilitated by Crime Prevention Technician Tom Agos and Officers Dan Ruth and Kelly Hansen. Officers Bendler, Bozer, Caldwell, and Woodruff also attended, as did Sgt. Smith.

The next meeting for the neighborhoods is scheduled for Thursday, 09/11/14 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, sooner if the need arises.

Police Activity Summary (patrol beats 54 and 68):

In patrol beats 54 and 68 (northern sections) 701 police calls for service have been generated during 2013. 48 of the calls received during 2013 were for Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009, 3,447 calls for service have been responded to in the neighborhood; 485 of them IUCR crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 7.4%.

Police Activity Summary (patrol beat 82):

In patrol beat 82 (southern section) 1,729 police calls for service were generated during 2013. 102 of the calls received from the beat were for IUCR crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009, 6,807 calls for service have been responded to in the neighborhood; 520 of them IUCR crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 7.8%.

Police Activity Summary (patrol beat 66; Deer Creek):

In patrol beat 66 (Deer Creek Condominiums) 289 police calls for service were generated during 2013. 15 of the calls received from the complex in 2013 were for IUCR crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009 1,319 calls for service have been responded to in the neighborhood; 138 of them IUCR crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 10.5%.

Training:

Officers Kelly Hansen and Dan Ruth gave the group a presentation on the myths and realities of sex offender registration laws.

Odds and Ends:

The next meeting for the area is scheduled for September 11th; sooner should the need arise. An official notice will be circulated when the date is set.
