Steeple Pointe, Estates of Churchill Hunt, and Coventry Estates had their most recent Neighborhood Watch meeting on 03/20/14. The meeting was facilitated by Officers J.R. Nauseda and Chad Tompoles.

The next regularly-scheduled neighborhood watch meeting will take place on September 18, 2014; sooner should the need arise. An official notice will be circulated when the date is closer.

Police Activity Summary:

In patrol beats 21 and 35, which encompass Steeple Pointe and Estates of Churchill-Hunt, 237 police calls for service were generated during all of 2013. Historically, the annual average is 270.

21 of the calls handled during 2013 were for Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2008, 1,620 calls for service have been responded to in the neighborhoods; 86 of them IUCR crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 5.4%.

In patrol beats 20 and 34, which encompass Coventry Estates, 228 police calls for service were generated during all of 2013. Historically, the annual average is 257.

5 of the calls handled during 2013 were for Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2008, 1,547 calls for service have been responded to in the neighborhoods; 39 of them IUCR crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 2.6%.

Training:

Officers Kelly Hansen and Dan Ruth gave the group a presentation on the myths and realities of sex offender registration laws.
