Elysian Fields, Greystone, Bittersweet Woods and Ravinia Woods areas (patrol beats 57, 58, 71 and 72) had their most recent Neighborhood Watch meeting on 05/01/14. The meeting was facilitated by Tom Agos and attended by Officers Tim Lavris, Matt Bendler, Rick Vorpagel, Dan Ruth, and Kelly Hansen. A link to the 57 minute audio recording is above.

The next regularly scheduled neighborhood watch meeting for the area is currently slated for October 30th, 2014; sooner should the need arise. An official notice will be circulated when the date is closer.

Police Activity Summary:

Greystone:

367 police calls for service were generated during 2013 in the Greystone (patrol beat 57) area. Historically, the average is 344 per year.

20 of the calls received during 2013 were for Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009, 1720 calls for service have been responded to in the beat; 89 of them Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 5.12%.

Elysian Fields:

760 police calls for service were generated during 2013 in the Elysian Fields (patrol beat 58) area. Historically, the average is 672 per year.

36 of the calls received during 2013 were for Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009, 3362 calls for service have been responded to in the beat; 231 of them Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 6.97%.

Ravinia Woods:

336 police calls for service were generated during 2013 in the Ravinia Woods (patrol beat 71) area. Historically, the average is 267 per year.

12 of the calls received during 2013 were for Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009, 1333 calls for service have been responded to in the beat; 85 of them Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 6.57%.

Bittersweet Woods:

565 police calls for service were generated during 2013 in the Bittersweet Woods (patrol beat 72) area. Historically, the average is 483 per year.

15 of the calls received during 2013 were for Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The rest of the police calls are considered quasi-criminal, traffic, and service-related.

Since January 2009, 2413 calls for service have been responded to in the beat; 10 of them Illinois Uniform Crime Report (IUCR) crimes. The calls for service to IUCR crime ratio in the area is 4.64%.

Training:

Officers Kelly Hansen and Dan Ruth gave the group a presentation on the myths and realities of sex offender registration laws.

Odds and Ends:

Again, the next meeting for the neighborhoods is scheduled for October 30th, 2014 or sooner should the need arise.
