ComEd to Conduct Tree Trimming throughout Village of Gurnee in April/May 2017

The Village has received notice from ComEd that they will be performing tree trimming around overhead power lines throughout the Village of Gurnee in April and May. Tree trimming is part of ComEd's larger maintenance program and is designed to remove weak or dangerous tree branches prior to a storm to prevent power outages and down wires.

IDOT Union Pacific Railroad Bridge Replacement at US 41/Route 132

IDOT has sent notice that the anticipated start date for the bridge replacement project at US 41/Route 132 is anticipated to begin the week of April 10th, 2017. This will be a multi-year project that will eventually widen the underpass and allow for additional lanes of traffic on Route 132 (Grand Avenue). It will also include pedestrian accommodations. In the interim, it is anticipated to have a major impact on traffic along Route 132.

Water/Sewer Rates

 


Starting Monday, May 1st, the Village’s water rates will increase from $4.59 to $4.73 per thousand gallons and sewer rates will increase from $1.43 to $1.47 per thousand gallons. All usage will be prorated to fairly assign costs over the billing period. Since 2016, the Village's water/sewer rate changes once a year in May. A portion of the rates will be dedicated to improve water and sewer infrastructure in the Village.
