Municipal Code and Ordinance Violations: Administrative Hearings Process

 

If you have received a municipal code or ordinance violation in regards to a parking violation you can request an Administrative Hearing

 

Hearings are held on the first and second Tuesday of each month at 3:00 p.m. in the Gurnee Police Department’s Community Room, 100 N. O’Plaine Road, Gurnee, IL  60031.

  1. For in-person hearing requests, the requestor  will be required to schedule a hearing coming in-person to the Gurnee Police Department, 100 N. O’Plaine Rd., Gurnee, IL 60031 or by calling the Records Department at (847)599-7070.

  2. The Gurnee Police Department will notify you of the date, time, and location to appear. A letter will be either given to you at the time of request or will be mailed to the address you provide in-person or on the phone.

  3. A person may be granted only one (1) additional hearing date consecutive to the original hearing date upon requesting an continuance to the municipality. This can be done either in-person at the Gurnee Police Department, 100 N. O’Plaine Rd., Gurnee, IL 60031 or by calling the Records Department at (847) 599-7070 within 5 days prior to your original hearing date.

  4. At the hearing, the Hearing Officer may or will advise a person of the outcome of the hearing.

  5. The Hearing Officer’s decision will be the following:
            a. “Found Liable
            b. “Found Not Liable
            c. “Failure to Appear (FTA) – Found Liable
