Gurnee Police Conclude Drunk Driving and Safety Restraint Special Enforcement Period

Gurnee, ILBeginning May 9th and running through May 26th, 2014 the Gurnee Police Department conducted enhanced impaired driver and safety restraint enforcement activities throughout the village.

This was the seventh and eighth of 14 scheduled campaigns that will be conducted during the 2013-2014 Strategic Traffic Enforcement Plan (STEP) grant year.

Holiday Roadside Safety Checkpoint Overnight on May 23rd

Gurnee, IL – The Gurnee Police Department along with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a Roadside Safety Checkpoint in the 5300 block of Grand Avenue (IL Rte 132) on the evening of Friday, May 23, 2014. The checkpoint will begin at approximately 10:00 PM and will operate into the early morning hours of May 24th. This Roadside Safety Checkpoint is conducted in an effort to promote seatbelt use and to ensure that motorists are operating their motor vehicles in a safe and sober manner.

Outrun the Cops! & Walk for the Kids: May 31, 2014

Gurnee, IL  - The Gurnee Police Department is conducting a charity 5K & 10K run/walk called OUTRUN THE COPS! & WALK FOR THE KIDS.

  • Date: May 31, 2014
  • Registration: 7 a.m.
  • Race Begins: 8 a.m.

Start and finish will be in the rear parking lot of the Gurnee Police Department 100 N. O’Plaine Road, Gurnee. The majority of the course will be on the Des Plaines River Trail (crushed limestone).
