Red Light Camera 30-day Warning Period To Begin Saturday, June 6th

GURNEE, IL - June 1, 2009 - The Village of Gurnee will begin the red light camera 30-day warning period on Saturday, June 6th. Motorists who violate red lights during this period will be notified through a warning letter, but will not receive a citation. The 30-day warning period will conclude on Sunday, July 5th.

Four Burglary Suspects Arrested

GURNEE, IL - June 30, 2009 - Four male suspects were arrested early Monday morning in the 5900 block of Delaware Avenue after a resident in the area called police to report suspicious subjects around her home. The four suspects, three adults and one juvenile, were charged late today.

I-94 Bridge Jumper Charged

GURNEE, IL - July 7, 2009 - The 19 year old Gurnee man, who jumped from the Stearns School Road overpass onto I-94 on June 25, was released from the hospital and transported to the Gurnee Police Department this morning.

Village of Gurnee Employees Receive Illinois American Legion 2009 Department Award

GURNEE, IL - July 16, 2009 - Two Village of Gurnee employees – Battalion Fire Chief Barry Henby and Police Officer Michael Young – have been awarded the prestigious Illinois American Legion 2009 Department Award for work in each of their respective areas.

Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.)

Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) is a 17-week course taught at school by Gurnee police officers. The program is designed to help children make the right decisions about drugs and build self-confidence.

Press Release - Car Burglaries Cleared

GURNEE, IL  - At approximately 8:04 PM on July 9, 2009, Gurnee Police responded to a suspicious person call in the parking lot of the Bombay City Restaurant, 3747 Grand Ave. A male subject inside the car was reportedly having car trouble and had passed out inside the car.
