[Gurnee, IL] - The Gurnee Police Department and the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force are investigating an attempted murder/aggravated battery with a firearm that took place in the Heather Ridge subdivision; located near the intersection of Route 120 and Route 21 in Gurnee, IL. The shooting took place on August 17, 2010 at 3:50 AM. It began as an auto burglary complaint that rapidly escalated into the shooting of a local resident.
[Gurnee, IL]– The Gurnee Police Department received a 9-1-1 call at 9:32 PM Sunday evening for a male subject that was creating some type of disturbance at a home in the 3400 block of Pacific Avenue. Upon arrival officers were told by a female resident in the home that the 37 year old male outside was her husband and he was acting strangely and threatened to harm himself with a knife.
An award ceremony will be held to recognize Woodland D.A.R.E. students who wrote winning essays during the spring session.
The Gurnee Police Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, in partnership with the Woodland School District, has awarded 34 students with brick pavers which have been installed at “The Guardian” statue in front of the police station. Winners were chosen based on the high quality of the essay they wrote as part of the D.A.R.E. program.

GURNEE, IL - July 28, 2010 - The recent report of an attack on a female jogger on Almond Road near Woodland Middle School has been determined to be unfounded. Information received from the public assisted investigators in discovering evidence that the woman’s injuries were not the result of any criminal act. The investigation has been administratively closed.
The Gurnee Police Department would like to thank the public for coming forward with information that lead to the quick closure of this investigation.
