Gurnee, IL – Beginning January 29th and running through February 14th, 2010 the Gurnee Police Department will be conducting increased impaired driver enforcement activities throughout the village.
Gurnee, IL – December 18, 2009 - On Friday morning, December 18, the proceeds from the 16th annual Jon Callaghan Memorial Turkey Trot were distributed to the local recipients at the Gurnee Police Department.
GURNEE, IL - October 7, 2009 - A local 19 year old man turned himself in at the Gurnee Police Department on Monday afternoon at approximately 4:00 PM after learning there was a warrant for his arrest. Gurnee detectives had obtained an arrest warrant for Joseph D. Diesi for a theft reported to police in the 4300 block of Birch Drive on Sunday afternoon at approximately 1:05 PM.
GURNEE, IL - September 21, 2009 - On September 19, 2009, at 10:56 PM the Gurnee Police Department received a 9-1-1 call fro m a resident in the 600 block of Dunham Road in the Heather Ridge subdivision. The 24 year old caller said he saw a male subject standing near his car when he went outside his residence. He said the subject ran from the area eastbound on the path there.
GURNEE, IL - September 18, 2009 - At approximately 9:45 AM today, the Gurnee School Resource Officer (SRO) at Warren Township High School was notified that a weapon was found in a second floor boy’s bathroom at the O’Plaine Road Campus, 500 N. O’Plaine Road.
Beginning August 21st and running through September 7th, the Gurnee Police Department conducted special traffic enforcement throughout the village.
The Village of Gurnee Police Department requests that all trick-or-treaters limit haunting to the hours of 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009. The Village also asks that you be respectful of your neighbors while trick-or-treating. Only go to homes of people you know.
GURNEE, IL - September 8, 2009 - The Gurnee Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department conducted a roadside safety checkpoint from 10:14 PM, September 4th, 2009 to 2:30 AM, September 5th, 2009. The checkpoint was held in the 3500 block of Route 132. The results of the checkpoint are as follows.
GURNEE, IL - September 8, 2009 - Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children age 3 to 6 and 8 to 14. In 2007, 6,532 passenger vehicle occupants 14 and younger were involved in fatal crashes. That’s why the Gurnee Police Department is urging all parents and caregivers to attend the “National Seat Check Saturday” event on Saturday September 12th. As part of Child Passenger Safety Week (September 12-18) the Gurnee Police Department will have certified technicians available to provide on-site child safety seat inspections and education from 11am-3pm at the Gurnee Target store, 6601 Route 132.
