Setbacks are defined as the minimum horizontal distance between a lot line and the nearest side of a building or other structure, located on a particular zoning lot, to such lot line. To find a property's setbacks, please use the Property Information Search  or contact Planning & Zoning staff at 847.599.7550 to determine the zoning district of the property. Once the zoning of the property has been obtained, the Site and Structure Provisions in each zoning district list the required setbacks. Please note, if the property is part of a Planned Unit Development (PUD) Agreement, Annexation Agreement, or Special Use Permit, these documents are not available online.
