Gurnee, IL – Beginning December 17th and running through January 1st, 2013, the Gurnee Police Department will be conducting special traffic enforcement efforts throughout the village.
Funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, these additional 60 hours of enforcement actions are being conducted in order to remove drunk and drugged drivers from the roadways, increase safety belt and child restraint device use, and curb speeding motorists.
In addition to roving saturation patrols, occupant protection enforcement zones will be established throughout the community.
Grant-funded campaigns are conducted in addition to officers’ regular patrol and enforcement responsibilities.
The Gurnee Police Department would like to remind you to always buckle up and “Drive to Survive.”
