Gurnee, IL – Gurnee Police have arrested three individuals, two adults and one juvenile, suspected of committing multiple auto burglaries throughout the village.
The investigation was assisted on Wednesday when a tip was phoned in regarding some stolen items from one of the burglary reports. That information led to the arrest of Robert Schwab, 19, from Wadsworth. A second suspect, Gregory Smith, 18, of Winthrop Harbor, was arrested Thursday afternoon.
After reviewing the case with the Lake County State’s Attorney’s office, Robert Schwab was charged with four counts of burglary, and one count of theft, all class 3 felonies. Gregory Smith was charged with three counts of burglary and one count of theft, also class 3 felonies.
The juvenile suspect, a 17 year old male from Waukegan, will be referred to the Lake County Juvenile Court for burglary and theft.
Schwab and Smith remain in custody at the Gurnee Police Facility while the investigation continues.
