The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning  for the entire northeastern Illinois region beginning Monday, January 27th at 3 a.m. and continuing until Wednesday, January 29th at 9 a.m. Temperatures are predicted to fall into negative temperatures and remain below zero through Wednesday morning. Wind chills will also be dangerously low during this time. As a result, the following information has been compiled to assist residents during the warning period:

- A list of warming centers in Lake County is also available on the Village's website .
- Earlier this afternoon, Districts 50 , 56  and 121  and Warren-Newport Public Library  announced that they will be closed on Monday, January 27th due to the cold. For the latest information on closings, visit each government's individual website.
- At this time, Waste Management has not announced any alteration in this coming week's collection schedule. Should a delay be announced, it will be posted on the Village's website and distributed through social media and the Village's e-mail listserv .
