Lake County PASSAGE Traffic Information

Information about driving conditions on county roads available online Lake County PASSAGE website provides real-time information about traffic conditions on roadways throughout the county.

A new Lake County website - www.lakecountypassage.com - went live starting in February to provide drivers in the county with real-time traffic information, including locations of traffic crashes, road construction and areas experiencing traffic congestion. The website is another component of Lake County PASSAGE, which also includes travel information provided by PASSAGE Radio Station broadcasting on 1620 AM.

Operators at the Traffic Management Center in Libertyville receive traffic-related information from the Lake County Sheriff 9-1-1 computer aided dispatch program that alerts them to traffic crashes, stalled vehicles and other incidents that would impede traffic flow. This information is then converted to concise voice messages that are broadcast to motorists over the radio. A text version of messages being broadcast on 1620 AM is now displayed on the website.

Lake County PASSAGE is an intelligent transportation system that offers the public an innovative combination of technology and communications designed to improve traffic flow and manage traffic incidents on Lake County's arterial roadway network.
