MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE GURNEE
VILLAGE BOARD IN REFERENCE
TO A CANVASS
OF THE VOTES OF THE ELECTION
HELD ON APRIL 4,1989
GURNEE MUNICIPAL BUILDING
APRIL 10, 1989
The meeting was called to order at
7:00 p.m. by Mayor Welton.
Roll Call, present: Yost, O'Brien,
Rocheleau, Petropoulos, Smith
Absent: Zelenko
Other officials present: James T. Hayner,
Village Administrator
W. Howard Swanson, Village
Attorney
The Canvass Board, consisting of Mayor
Welton, Village Clerk Balliet and Trustee Yost, reviewed the votes
cast in the April 4, 1989 Consolidated Election.
2882 Ballots were cast in total, according
to the "Summary of Ballots Cast," issued by the Office
of the Clerk of Lake County. The results were as follows:
Office of Mayor - Richard A. Welton
- 1,316 votes Office of Village Clerk - Norman C. Balliet - 1,148
votes Office of Trustee (4 - Year Term) Verna Rocheleau - 1,19~
votes David O'Brien - 1,138 votes Jerry Smith - 1,144 votes.
Yost moved, seconded by Balliet, to
certify and proclaim the winners, as indicated, by the Village
Canvass Board.
Roll Call, Aye: Yost, Welton, Balliet
Nay: None. Absent:None. Motion Carried.
Yost moved, seconded by O'Brien, to
accept the results of the Official Canvass of the votes of the
Consolidated Election of April 4, 1989.
Roll Call, Aye: Yost, O'Brien,
Rocheleau, Smith, Petropoulos Nay: None. Absent:Zelenko.
Motion Carried.
The Village Administrator distributed
a picture of a proposed sign, donated by the Holland Design Group,
which is to be placed by the Mother Rudd House. The Trustees are
to review and suggest any changes.
Rocheleau moved, seconded by O'Brien,
to adjourn the special meeting.
All Aye. Motion Carried.
The special meeting was adjourned at
7:11 p.m. by Mayor Welton.
