Special Winter Weather Announcement: Tuesday, January 28th, 4:00 p.m.

The National Weather Service has downgraded the wind chill warning to a wind chill advisory for the entire northeastern Illinois region. This advisory will remain in effect until Wednesday, January 29th at 9 a.m.  Negative temperatures and low wind chills are expected to continue through this time, and residents are advised to continue exercising caution and avoid prolonged exposure to the cold. 

At this time, Districts 50, 56, 121, Warren-Newport Public Library, and the Gurnee Park District have not announced opening/closing information for Wednesday, January 29th. Please continue to monitor each agency's website for the most up-to-date information.

Resources for managing the cold weather can be found on the Village's website, along with a list of warming centers in Lake County. The Village website will be updated with new information as it becomes available. Information will also be distributed through social media and the email listserv.
