The Village of Gurnee Community Development Department seeks candidates for a Summer Office Assistant work opportunity.

Employees in this position perform duties related to data entry, scanning permit documents, assisting with a variety of general administrative tasks such as answering phones, typing, filing, copying, and providing assistance to the general public. 

Requires experience using a computer and using a computer directory (filing/folder) structure; knowledge and experience in computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite; accurate typing skills; ability to file alphabetically and numerically; ability to lift up to 25 pounds; previous work experience that demonstrates ability to work with others as part of a team and independently; strong customer service orientation; self-initiated and highly motivated individual.  Must be at least 16 years of age.

Starting hourly rate of pay is $11.00 / hour.   Duration of position is approximately from mid / late May to mid-August.  Work schedule is generally 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Gurnee Village Hall facility, 325 N. OPlaine Road.  Offer of employment is contingent on passing a background investigation and drug screen.
