Anticipated hiring salary range $81,000 - $92,500 annually +/- DOQ/E plus a comprehensive benefits package. Offer of employment contingent on background and post offer medical / drug screen.
Mid-level, professional position involved with design, implementation, administration, security, and support for Village enterprise networking systems. Position works cooperatively with all Village operations (Police, Fire, 9-1-1 PSAP, Public Works, Finance, Administration, and Engineering/Community Development), approximately 250 end users.
Duties include configuring and maintaining various infrastructure and end user equipment, troubleshooting hardware and network issues, maintenance and connectivity needs for Village business applications, applying best practice concepts in TCP/IP, VLANs and trunking, routing protocols, and access-lists in administering and maintaining LAN, WAN, firewalls, internet services, and VPN infrastructure. The Network Administrator will also assist in developing and implementing short and long-term networking plans, developing project schedules, conducting status meetings, coordinating technical resources, providing project reports, maintain relationships with 3rd party support/service providers as well as contribute and participate in DR planning and exercises.
Current environment: The network encompasses 6 main facilities + 8 other points of presence, 3 private fiber connections, 15 point to point wireless connections, and 6 peer network connections, robust existing Cisco switching and routing infrastructure, long term Cisco Unified Call Manager VoIP telephony implementation, standardized computing hardware (HP/HPE), established SAN (HPE/Nimble), well established virtualized environment (VMware/Veeam), monitoring (WhatsUp/Cisco PI); mobile routing & VPN (Cisco AnyConnect / Netmotion / Sierra Wireless modems); mobile devices (iOS).

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related curriculum along with 5+ years’ progressive experience in application administration and system support. Proficiency in Network communication and management protocols, as well as scripting is desirable. Public safety or public sector information technology experience desirable. Must be able / eligible to work with Criminal Justice Information.
