The Village of Gurnee seeks candidates for the position of Part Time General Office Secretary.  The anticipated work schedule is 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (20 hours / week).

This position performs work involving a variety of routine customer service, administrative, and financial tasks at the front desk at the Gurnee Village Hall.  Core responsibilities will include customer service response in person and over the phone; general clerical functions; payment processing; managing incoming and outgoing mail and packages; and other related tasks.

This position requires a high degree of public interaction.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.  Organizational skills and solid knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are essential. Position requires high school diploma or equivalent; at least 1 year office experience performing similar tasks with a customer-service orientation.  Bilingual speaking skills helpful (Spanish preferred). 

Hourly rate of pay:  $24.30 / hour; pension plan; pro-rated personal & holiday paid time off.   Position covered under a union contract.
