Reserve (Substitute) School Crossing Guards - 2023/2024 School Year

Summary:

The Gurnee Police Department is seeking applicants for Reserve (Substitute) School Crossing Guards.

This position will perform work on an as needed basis when a regularly assigned Crossing Guard is unable to work.  Work schedule and location will vary.  No prior experience is necessary. 

Pay – paid training; $23.50 / hour. 

Work Hours – average 2 hours per school day; early morning and mid-afternoon on scheduled school days.  Specific hours are determined when assigned to crossing post.

Work is performed outdoors.  Requires physical exertion such as walking and standing for extended periods of time.  Vehicular traffic hazards also present in work environment.
