Reserve School Crossing Guards - 2017 / 18 School Year

Summary:

The Gurnee Police Department is seeking applicants for Reserve School Crossing Guards for the 2017-18 school year. This position will perform work when a regularly assigned Crossing Guard is absent.

Work schedule and location will vary.

Work Locations & General Work Hours: 

Old Grand Avenue & O’Plaine Road [near Viking School]

  • 6:40 A.M. to 7:40 A.M. and 2:15 P.M. to 3:15 P.M.

Route 132 (Grand Avenue) & O’Plaine Road

  • 6:40 A.M. to 7:40 A.M. and 2:15 P.M. to 3:15 P.M.

O’Plaine Road & Hayner Avenue [near River Trail School]

  • 6:40 A.M. to 7:40 A.M. and 2:15 P.M. to 3:15 P.M.

Washington Street and Almond Road [Woodland Middle School]

  • 6:45 A.M. to 7:45 A.M. and 2:10 P.M. to 3:10 P.M

Work is performed outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions, including exposure to traffic, rain, wind, snow, hot and cold temperatures.  Vehicular traffic hazards also present in work environment.

Rate of pay is $15 / hour.

No prior experience is necessary; paid training and equipment is provided.  Applicants selected for continuation in the process will be subject to an oral interview.  Any offer of employment is contingent on passing a background investigation and drug screen.
