Public Works - Adopt-A-Trail Program
The Village of Gurnee Adopt-A-Trail program gives individuals and groups an opportunity to support anti-litter efforts by adopting a section of Village pedestrian trails for the purpose of litter collection.
Sections of adopted trails are between 3/4 to 2 miles in length. Groups perform litter collection a minimum of two times a year, for the duration of the two-year adoption period.
Groups must provide one adult supervisor 21 years of age or older for every five youths under the age of 18 present on the adopted section of trail. No one under the age of 10 may participate in litter collections due to safety concerns. Litter collections can only be conducted between one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset, in fair weather.
