Leaf Collection's Final Week Pushed Back to November 30 - December 4th Due to Snow

Gurnee's 2015 Annual Leaf Collection Program
Monday, October 19th - Friday, December 4th

The Village's Annual Leaf Collection Program begins Monday, October 19th and will continue through Friday, December 4th.  Residents are encouraged to get their leaves ready for pick up as soon as possible in order to ensure that they are collected.  Please note that after the week of November 30th - December 4th, there will be no other opportunities for leaf collection; residents with leaves after this date will be required to make arrangements for removal on their own.

Annual Leaf Collection Program
Gurnee's Annual Leaf Collection (Leaf Pickup) Program takes place each fall (specific pickup dates are posted to this page in the fall). Residents are asked to rake leaves to the curb where vacuum trucks will collect them. Leaves should be placed in the parkway grass, NOT in the street.

Residents should have their leaves at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on the Monday of each collection week to ensure they are collected. Leaf collection does not necessarily take place the same day as your garbage collection.

Waste Management will make six trips throughout the Village to collect leaves. Leaves will be picked up along every street and road within the Village on each trip. Each pass through the Village may take several days. Residents are reminded that once the collection truck makes its final run in your neighborhood, it will not return to collect any additional leaves.

Waste Management will make every effort to collect leaves along each Village roadway every week. However, factors such as weather or large volumes of leaves may slow down collection. The target collection dates are shown on the Leaf Collection Schedule Map

Due to the limited reach of the vacuum truck, residents are asked to rake leaves as close to the street as possible. When placing the leaves at the curb, please do not block culverts or storm sewer openings. Leaves piled in these areas may create drainage problems in the event of heavy rains or melting snow.

Residents with questions or concerns should call Village Hall at 847-599-7500 or visit the FAQ section.
