The Village of Gurnee has established an Emergency Management Agency to coordinate preparedness, relief, response, and recovery activities for all emergency or disaster situations within the Village. The program has an Emergency Management Agency Coordinator, appointed by the Village Administrator with the approval of the Mayor and Village Board, who meets the program standards and requirements as established by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act.

On Saturday, May 21st from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., the Gurnee Fire Department will be participating in Fire/Safety Expo 2011, presented by the Lake County Fire Chief's Association. The event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Parking Lot B (between Sears Grand/Bed, Bath & Beyond) at Gurnee Mills.

Time is just one of the many elements which affects our very existence as well as our way of life. Despite our attempts to remain young, attractive, and healthy, time and the aging process continue forward. Our hearts are by no means an exception to time. Every 32 seconds of every day, an adult life is lost through heart disease.
