Theft Arrest

Gurnee, IL – The Gurnee Police Department has been conducting an investigation into financial irregularities discovered by members of the Providence Village Homeowners Association. An Association board member discovered that a substantial amount of money appeared to be missing from their accounts. The Board presented their findings to the Gurnee police department. A five-month investigation resulted in a felony arrest warrant being issued by the Lake County State’s Attorney’s office against the Association’s long-time treasurer, Brian W. Moy. 

Mr. Moy, 59 of Gurnee, was charged in a one-count arrest warrant for the offense of theft; over $10,000 in value but under $100,000 in value.  The offense charged is a class 2 felony, punishable by three to seven years incarceration and a maximum fine of $25,000.

Mr. Moy turned himself in to Gurnee detectives on January 31st. He was processed and released after posting 10% of the $50,000 bond assigned. Mr. Moy is due to make a court appearance on 02/21/14 at 9:00 AM in Lake County Circuit Court.
