Capture Gurnee: Community Photo Contest

Take your shot! The Village of Gurnee is holding a photo contest to find images that best capture life in Village of Gurnee. Select photographs will be featured on the Village of Gurnee website and in various Village publications. The contest is open to Village of Gurnee residents and non-residents (professionals and hobbyists).

Contest Information

  • Photo entries must be submitted by completing the below entry form and uploading a photo.
  • Contestants must be the sole author and owner of the image/photo.
  • Entries will be accepted from July 7, 2023 through August 2, 2023.
  • All photo entries will become the property of the Village of Gurnee.
  • Photos must have been taken within the Village of Gurnee Boundaries.
  • Photos can be no more than two years old and must not have been altered in any way other than cropping and minor retouching.
  • Photos will be accepted in the following categories:       
    •          (1) Daily Life: Work, play and enjoying the Village of Gurnee.
             (2) Nature: Greenery/environmental, open spaces, parks & wildlife.
             (3) You Know It’s Gurnee: A photo that you see and you obviously know it’s Gurnee.  

Selection Process and Winnings

  • The Village’s Communications Team will consider submissions and vote on the winners.
  • The winning photos as well as honorable mentions will be announced in early August. Winning photos and all entries may be featured in the Village Newsletter, on the Village website and social media.
  • The overall 1st place and 2nd place winners will win prizes. The 1st place winner will win a ride with 2 guests in the Gurnee Days Parade and the 2nd place winner will win a $100 Gurnee Mills Gift Card. All the winning photographers will be recognized at a Village Board Meeting.
