Village Launches New Emergency Alert System

The Village of Gurnee is pleased to announce the launch of its new and improved emergency alert system, powered by Regroup. This system is designed to deliver real-time alerts and important updates to residents, businesses, and visitors—ensuring everyone stays informed and prepared during emergencies and routine service changes.

Through Regroup, users can receive notifications via phone call, text message, email, or mobile app, making it easier than ever to stay connected and aware. Alerts will include:

  • Emergency Alerts (automatically enrolled): Active shooter, crime in progress or terror threat
  • Severe Weather Warnings: National Weather Service-issued alerts for community safety
  • Public Safety Notifications: Safety tips, scams, fraud, crime alerts, road closures and traffic updates
  • Service Announcements: Garbage, recycling landscape waste and mosquito spraying
The system allows for personalized settings, so users can choose how they receive alerts and which types of notifications are most relevant to them.

Action Required: Re-Register to Receive Alerts
Even if you were previously registered for the Village’s old alert system, you must sign up again to continue receiving notifications. The previous system is being retired and will no longer be used.
