Traffic Safety
We have 3 major priorities when it comes to traffic enforcement.
- Impaired driving enforcement
- Safety restraint use
- Speeding
These priorities are the three predominant causes of injuries and deaths in traffic crashes.
Our aim is to lower crashes, thereby lowering the number of people injured or killed. We accomplish this through a comprehensive combination of public education and strict, consistent enforcement.
- Photo and Video Enforcement Program
Photo enforcement is used in concert with all of the Village’s traffic safety programs. The goal of employing this technology is to make our community roads safer and reduce automobile-related tragedies by addressing traffic signal violations. The campaign seeks to re-establish respect for red lights in an effort to enhance the safety of our residents and visitors. The aim is also to reduce the number and severity of crashes in addition to injuries and fatalities caused by dangerous and aggressive driving.
