Annual Budget
The Annual Budget enables the delivery of services in the areas of administration, building inspection, civil engineering, urban planning/zoning, police protection, emergency dispatch, fire protection/prevention services, and public works. The goal is to have a responsible budget while minimizing taxation. The Annual Budget meets this goal without sacrificing service levels or introducing new taxes. The Village continues to be one of the very few communities in the State with neither a property tax nor utility tax. As a result, municipal operations remain heavily reliant on elastic revenues generated primarily from consumer spending in the community.
The Village of Gurnee is proud to introduce the Village's new and innovative digital budget book! This platform offers transparent insights into our expenditures, revenue streams, and community investments. Accessible to all, it fosters greater accountability, participation, and informed decision-making for a brighter, more prosperous future.
