The Gurnee Youth Leadership Initiative, in partnership with the of Gurnee, will be issuing a $1,000 award to recognize a recently graduated high school senior for their outstanding leadership, community participation, and service in the community.
The scholarship recipient will be selected by members of the Gurnee Youth Leadership Initiative and then forwarded to the Village Board for final approval.
Disbursement of the scholarship will be issued to the college of the award recipient's choice or reimbursed to the award recipient approximately one (1) month after submission of a paid tuition or computer purchase receipt.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
- Applicant must be a resident of the Village and have attended WTHS.
- Applicant must be attending a college, university, or trade school this fall.
- Applicant must have provided service to the school and community, including demonstration of positive leadership qualities.
Individuals desiring to apply for the award must supply all requested information, including a Personal Essay and Letter of Recommendation with the requested information.
