DES PLAINES RIVER LEVEL UPDATE APRIL 21, 2026: The river is currently at 10.22 ft. and continues to recede slowly. Grand Avenue has been reopened. Emerald Avenue, the west end of McClure Avenue, Kilbourne Road between Grand Avenue and Route 41, Old Grand Avenue between Grand Avenue and Emerald Avenue remain closed. Public Works has sandbags available for pickup. Village staff will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.

LRS will provide free unlimited yard waste collection for residents who do not pay an HOA for service during the weeks beginning April 20 and April 27. Yard waste must be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on your pickup day and set out in kraft paper bags, rigid cans, or bundled brush that meets size and weight limits.
