Village Board - Trustee Liliana Ware

Term Ends April 30, 2027

Background

Born to a Chinese father and a Peruvian mother, Liliana lived in Peru until she came to the States on a scholarship. She received her Master’s degree from Indiana State University.  She worked at the world headquarters of Rotary International in Evanston for eight years. In 1997, she and her family moved to Gurnee. She earned her doctorate in education in 2018. She has worked at the College of Lake County since 2002 and is currently Assistant Director of Academic Planning. Her work on the Village of Gurnee’s Planning and Zoning Board in the past two years was a valuable experience to continue serving the Village as trustee.

She is well known for being an avid pickleball player, as well as for her kind, welcoming, and adventurous spirit. Liliana loves biking, pickleball, exploring new cuisines, spending time with her family, and traveling. 

Motivated to serve the community of Gurnee to continue to grow and improve the town she loves. Believes that the best way to live life is to put others before herself and she is excited to do that for the people of Gurnee.
