The National Weather Service's Extreme Cold Warning will go into effect for Gurnee January 23rd at 3:00AM until January 23rd 12:00PM CST. Weather conditions include: Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Precautionary/preparedness actions: dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors.
Gurnee’s Warming Center is Gurnee Mills Mall located at 6170 W Grand Ave., open Monday through Saturday 10:00AM to 8:00PM and Sunday from 11:00AM to 7:00PM.
