Crime Alert - Auto Burglaries

GURNEE - Since June 1, 2018, seventy one (71) vehicle burglaries and seventeen (17) vehicle trespass incidents have been reported in neighborhoods throughout the Village.

Most of these vehicle entries have been taking place during the over-night hours and have targeted unlocked vehicles. Items taken have ranged from small electronics to purses, wallets, cash, and credit cards.

Please remember to lock your car, take your keys, hide your belongings, and remind your family members and friends to do the same.

Also, high-quality exterior lighting remains the most effective deterrent to crime. Consider lighting up your home. If you have any information about these felony crimes or a home surveillance system recording of suspicious activity please call 847-599-7000.

Alternately, you can provide information anonymously by calling

Lake County Crime Stoppers at 847-662-2222. You may be eligible for a cash reward.
