Petition Filing and Lottery Information

December 14, 2020 through December 21, 2020, is the filing period for candidates seeking to be nominated at the April 6, 2020 Consolidated Election. 

The Village Hall Council Chambers will be open for filing during the following hours:

  • December 14th – 18th:  7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  • December 19th: Closed
  • December 20th: Closed
  • December 21st: 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Due to the COVID-19 Tier 3 enhanced mitigations imposed statewide, facial coverings, social distancing and hand sanitizer guidelines will be followed.

Last Day of Filing

Filings will conclude at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21st.

The Village of Gurnee is accepting candidate nomination papers for the following:

                                   Mayor                     -     1 Full Term Mayor

                                   Village Clerk           -     1 Full Term Clerk

                                   Village Trustee         –    3 Full Term Trustees

The lottery for all simultaneous 7:30 a.m. filers will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28th in the Council Chambers at Gurnee Village Hall.

The lottery for all simultaneous 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. filers will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28th in the Council Chambers at Gurnee Village Hall.

The last day to file objections to nomination papers is Wednesday, December 30th.
