The Village has recently received inquiries related to the annual appointment process. The Village offers the following information related to this process:  On an annual basis near the beginning of the fiscal year the Village Board appoints and/or re-appoints personnel to various Village positions.  The terms of these appointments are generally for one year. This year the annual appointment process was followed exercising appropriate decision-making authority and in accordance with past practices. Decisions involving a change in an appointed position is never made lightly and involves careful deliberations before recommendations are made by the Mayor with concurrence of the Village Board. 

The Village of Gurnee respects the privacy of its employees and does not publicly comment about individual personnel matters or employee performance.  Furthermore, the Village does not engage in a public debate regarding these matters via social media.
