Winter Flood Prevention Tips: Keep Drainage Basins and Storm Sewers Clear from Debris
With the recent snow melt and rain in the forecast, there is an increased risk of localized flooding.
To reduce the possibility of flooding, citizens are requested to do the following:
- Locate any drains or catch basins adjacent to your property
- Make sure drains and catch basins are clear of any snow, ice, or other debris
- Clear a path for water to flow into the drains and catch basins
Being vigilant about making sure drainage areas are clear can greatly reduce the chance of flooded streets and properties.
