After the Village of Gurnee Engineering Division started planning the building of a new water tower at the corner Knowles Road and Rollins Road, the water tower on Old Grand Avenue removal process began.  Water Tower #1 was removed on Monday, June 4^th, 2018. Several residents came to watch as this water tower that was built 60 years ago was taken down. The demolition took just over 7 hours, and the estimated completion of the new water tower is by the end of 2020.
