Gurnee Hosts Community Conversation on Homelessness and Panhandling

GURNEE, IL – On Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 officials from the Village of Gurnee, along with PADS Lake County, Community Partners for Affordable Housing, Lake County State’s Attorney Mike Nerheim and the Lake County Health Department will hold a Community Conversation on homelessness and panhandling in Gurnee. The dialogue will offer residents a chance to learn more about how panhandling and homelessness are interrelated with other chronic social service crises.

“Panhandling, as it relates to both episodic and chronic homelessness, is a local issue that impacts our community. Join us for a dialogue about what is being done currently and how you can help” said Gurnee Mayor Kristina Kovarik.

Interested members of the community are welcome to attend this public meeting. The meeting will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Church (2300 N Dilleys Road, Gurnee, IL 60031).
