The Village of Gurnee has announced a revised leaf collection program for the 2020 season. Included in the new program is free unlimited bagged leaf pickup and bi-weekly leaf vacuum service.
 
The 2020 Leaf Collection program will begin on Monday, October 19th and continue for eight weeks until Friday, December 11th. During this time, residents may put out unlimited bags of leaves and other landscape bags without stickers. This is a new feature for the 2020 season.
 
Continuing for the 2020 season is leaf vacuum service for leaves raked to the curb line, which will now be completed bi-weekly for residents depending on their orientation to I-94. Residents east of I-94 will receive leaf vacuum service on odd weeks, and residents west of I-94 will receive leaf vacuum on even weeks. The move to bi-weekly service is being done to provide residents a more reliable pickup schedule and allows Waste Management to focus on half of the community each week for a more complete cleanup.
 
“Residents and staff alike were frustrated with the 2019 leaf collection program and do not want to experience another season like that for 2020” said Village Administrator Patrick Muetz. “Staff and Waste Management came together to develop this plan to ensure better reliability of service with some additional benefits to residents”.

Week 1: October 19th – 23rd
Week 3: November 2nd – 6th
Week 5: November 16th – 20th
Week 7: November 30th – December 4th
 
West of I-94
Week 2: October 26th – 30th
Week 4: November 9th – 13th
Week 6: November 23rd – 28th
Week 8: December 7th – 11th
