Reminder: Gurnee Chooses Eligo Energy As ComEd's Supplier

As a reminder, residents should be receiving their notice letter this week notifying our switch to Eligo Energy from MC Squared. All residents will still be ComEd customers and still continue to receive their bill from ComEd.

For the 9th consecutive year, Gurnee has continued our Electric Aggregation program for residents and small businesses. Since 2012, residents who have been in our program have saved over $375 per household or over a $3.75M Village-wide.

Since the program has started, ComEd has become extremely competitive price-wise and private bids can no longer compete with ComEd's rate. Rather than abandon the program entirely, the Village participates in a unique program that allows us to use 100% renewable energy from Midwest wind farms at the exact ComEd rate. In the first year of the program, the EPA has designated Gurnee as the #14th city in the U.S. by renewable energy usage: https://www.epa.gov/greenpower/green-power-communities

PLEASE NOTE: Eligo Energy or the Village will NEVER call or visit your house regarding our program. These third-party programs are NOT approved by the Village, and do not often result in resident savings. Our program mimics the ComEd rate, which is currently $0.0682 per kilowatt and lower than most private offerings.
